Welcome to the FireFly Podcast!
What We Are
Hello fellow listener or non listener! For whatever your reason, you have stumbled upon the FireFly Podcast! I am your host, SolarCar! My podcast is all about aviation. Throughout the series, we will go about interviewing various experts on the subject, many of which are pilots themselves! Are you ready to "fly" into the world of aviation?

Above: This is me taking my first introductory flight
In March of 2019, I took my first introductory flight down in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia, Canada. It was part of an event called Give Them Wings, an event aimed at Indigenous youth (Ages 15 - 39). I had been invited to it a week ago while at the opening party for a new airline called Iskwew Air at Vancouver International Airport by an employee of Nav Canada who was starting this event called "Give Them Wings". Let's go back a few years though. When I was just a wee lad, my neighbour came to my house and offered to take me for a flight in his BD-4 tail dragger. That flight is what really got me into aviation. For a few years, my interests had shifted over to meteorology and I started a podcast called "The Weather Rock". All the while, I still had the faintest interest in aviation. It wasn't until I got my first flight simulator software, Microsoft Flight Simulator X, that my interest of aviation really started to "spark". That spark caught fire, and soon enough I bought a copy of XPlane 11 and a physical yoke. Not long after that, I enrolled in ground school at a local airport. Then we come to the Give Them Wings event. I go to this event, get to takeoff, fly a pattern and land a Cessna 172. Now we are here, in the present day. I am currently enrolled in flight lessons at a local airport and one day hope to get my commercial pilots license.
